The Definition of Cool

Witness here the greatest pose that all of dog-kind has to offer. The greyhound/supermodel/chav/zombie formerly known as Mitch is sporting his special 'dog hat'. One of many. :). Note the expression on his face: "..."

I missed out on an OSCAR by THIS MUCH...

I haven't written much about Tom in this blog so far. I think that's mostly because he's either asleep or 'out'. No one know's exactly where, he's quite mysterious about his social life, but 'out' suffices. He's the ginger, elusive one that has a fondness for picky-eating and swaggering about his 'turf'.

So, I've decided that Tom should make his debut with a bang, courtesy of the wonderful video that I made only a few days ago. Well, I say wonderful... It's mostly repetitive as for some reason it only used one clip, but minor technical glitches aside it turned out quite 'alright'. Oh and just as a warning - there's a few clips of Mickey in there trying to look all impressive when I pointed the camera in his direction (if you've read the entry below you'll understand).

Also - this is my first video that I've ever uploaded on here, so it's one small step for cat-luvvers worldwide, one giant leap for me.

(Ignore the mess, I didn't exactly pick the best lazy-sunday to shoot this vid).

Beware the wrath of Mickey!

EVER wondered what happens when you interrupt a bird mid-preen to take his picture? Behold, the answer is to your left (or is it right, I'm no good with directions).
Mickey is normally quite good with photographs, in fact he enjoys the odd pose every now and again.

Whenever someone turns the camera in his direction, 007 Agent Mickey immediatly ducks underneath the lense! It's really amusing to watch... He does his funny bird noises and keeps popping his head up as if to say "Excuse me, but have you quite finished?" The end result being something rather amusing... In the end, whenever you turn the camera on and point it in his direction, he instantly flutters into action, ducking and diving and then zooming in to stare right into the lense - resulting in some fairly strange pictures. But lo! I haven't uploaded any marginally weird ones onto my computer, so this is the best I could do.

P.S This photograph was taken about 5 seconds before he launched forwards and attacked the camera. Joke. But still, you can imagine it happening.

Important notice:
For multiple cases of Grevious Bodily Harm and antisocial behaviour, Mickey has been banished to the confines of his cage. He insists that he was 'provoked' into it. He is currently under the guidance of an ASBO and on parole. The victim decided not to press charges. The judge however, was not so forgiving.

A dog's best friend...

IN the merry old land of Derbyshire, times are strange. Whoever said cats and dogs couldn't be friends? Above we have our own happy-go-lucky dog-tormentor-of-the-year Indi and her 'pawsing for thought' greyhound buddy Mitch. They're both taking a well earned rest after a day of... resting!
Notice - no teeth bared, no sharpened claws, no flying fur - absolute proof that cats and dogs can get along. Unless it's just my pets, strange beings that they are... No...

(Since this photo was taken both Indi and Mitch have 'admitted' that they had fallen asleep during a "fight" and were not at all behaving nicely in each other's company).

I don't believe a word of it...

Sunset

Just a post to give an example of the lovely sunsets of Derbyshire, England, as taken by Lynn Mitchell.

Enter - Bob

MEET Bob, our rabbit, a.k.a 'the bobster'. He's just another of the slightly insane animals that live with us. Bob is about 4/5 years old and until recently shared his lovely patch of the garden with three guinea pigs...though sadly they died. Bob then spiralled down into bunny depression and we slowly brought him out of it.
He has a rare attatchment to our cats and will stare at them all the while they're in the garden.

The cats must pass through Bob's 'patch' to reach the window, and so climb inside. Whenever they do this though, Bob chases them and attempts to corner them. Even Tom, our world-renowned hunter is afraid of Bob.
Indi and Gwen especially have developed tactics which involved climbing and 'taking the long way round' to avoid Bob.

It seems that most animals in our house have developed strange personalities!

Mickey - the species confused cat-lover!

We here have Mickey the species-confused cat-lover. Half the time he thinks he's a cat anyway... He chases after Gwen every time she comes in the room. He's learnt to copy the little cat noises she makes, so he now 'calls' to her.

Thinking...

I need to find more pictures of our cats... and our bird... I should post pictures of all of them, and write a kind of pet-profile.

More pics!

Here're some lovely pictures of our cats

Firstly - Indi's 3 kittens as 6 day old babies. Gwen is the middle one.

Secondly - Gwen in her much loved hat. Her 'basket' in the younger days.

Thirdly - Gwen relaxing on the stairs, 'chilled out' and posing for the camera.

Pictures!

The first photo here is Indi and then Gwen her baby.
I thought it was about time I posted some pictures of the 2 little monsters!
Gwen has just climbed inside the bird's cage!
